Evernote 2.2

http://www.evernote.com/
Evernote is one of the best note software I know। Of coz Microsoft Onenote is also a great one but much more expensive. If you're working on a desktop or normal laptop, then Evernote should be your best choice for NOTE. You can use all features with free. Some advanced features like handwriting and its recoganization need a license to keep the feature alive. Normally it cost $49.99 but now you can get it at a price of 19.99$.
I just ordered the license for my tablet since the advanced feature for handwriting is a great temptation for tablet users. Say, I ever considered that I can handwrite with sticknote and use some snipping tools to copy the handwriting to notes, but it's too fussy. Then, what could you do when you want to make some change to the handwritings? There're some other advanced features like handwriting recoganization is very useful -- but not the decided point. It's the first software I bought ever, except the Winxp coming with laptops and some versions of Linux. I noticed that from lenovo website you can buy a copy of Onenote at 20$ if you buy a tablet, wow, that's great! But my x60 tablet is coming from Lenovo outlet store and I just cannot customize that. What a pity!

OS: winxp & ubuntu

Winxp & Ubuntu

Every software runs on certain operating systems। Currently I use windows xp and ubuntu as my daily computing platform. Of couse, winxp is not free, or it's very expensive, but we always get some OEM version from a new desktop/laptop buy. It was very long ago, maybe 4 years ago when I DIY my last desktop - from then on I've been using laptop, including thinkpad t20, t41, x41 tablet and Hp compaq nc4000/4010, and the coming x60 tablet which is now being shipped by UPS.

Winxp is very successful operating system so far and I think it's the best so far even considering the latest vista which would tomments my hardware for sure. For me, winxp is good enough and I don't need vista's new tricky features -- I don't want to upgrade my hardware so often.
There's some simpified winxp version which could run better than normal winxp especially on some old machines. One of them is DeepXP(www.deepin.org), which is a simplified Winxp, but only Chinese version। I don't have much ideas if there're some similar ones in other language but it should be there. Some tools like XpLite would help if you want to DIY your winxp.

Never forgot to find some tools to apply your COA.

Actually, uninstall the useless software coming with the winxp, stop some never-to-use system services would greatly help। I treat my Windows Xp tablepc 2005 in this way -- though it's a better way to begin with some simpified winxp.

Ubuntu(www.ubuntu.com) is my favor. There's some variabies such as xubuntu, kubuntu and edubuntu. I use xubuntu 7.10 on my x41 tablet. It's much faster than xp tablet 2005. For my tablet, ubuntu could recognize the wacom stylus automatically, but it cost some time to configure if you're using xubuntu.
